Biography

Prof. Hugo Zbinden
Board member
University of Geneva

Hugo Zbinden, 44 years old, joined the Group of Applied Physics of the Unversity of Geneva in 1993. Since 2000, he holds a fixed position as an Assistant Professor. He heads the Quantum Cryptography Section in the Group of Applied Physics.

Prior to joining the University of Geneva, he worked on laser physics at the University of Bern, where he lead collaborations with industrial partners.

He is the author of more than 50 publications in prestigious international journals such as Nature and Science and is cited as inventor on more than 10 patents.

He holds a PhD and a Master degree in Physics from the University of Bern, in Switzerland.
