November 17th, 2011 Geneva, Switzerland - Hyposwiss Private Bank is a Swiss financial institute specialising in individual wealth management, with CHF 11.4 billion in assets under management. 2011 is a year of infrastructure change for the bank, with the opening of a new data center in February and plans to move to a new headquarters in central Zurich in September. During this transition Hyposwiss Private Bank needed to secure multiple temporary links to the data center until the consolidation of the different offices into one headquarters. ID Quantique (IDQ) provided a flexible solution, offering Centauris encryptors on rental basis until the completion of the move. Thereafter the bank will encrypt the main link between the new HQ & the data center using a Centauris 1 Gbps Ethernet encryptor. IDQ’s layer 2 encryptors are transparent to the network. They provided Hyposwiss Private Bank the speed and ease of installation required during the transition period, when encyptors needed to be move from one location to another within short maintenance windows. Centauris uses state-of-the-art AES 256-bit algorithms and are certified according to the highest international norms for encryptors (FIPS and CC EAL4+), both critical security requirements for financial institutions.
