QUANTIS is a physical random number generator exploiting an elementary quantum optics process, which exists in four versions: a USB device , a PCI Express (PCIe) board, a PCI board and an OEM component. The product delivers best-in-class random bit rate of up to 16Mbps.

  • Quantis User Guide - This document explains how to install the drivers for a Quantis USB device or PCIe/PCI board and how to generate random numbers. It also describes the use of the Quantis Library.

Quantis-OEM Component

  • Quantis-OEM Application Note - This document explains how to install the drivers for a Quantis USB device or PCIe/PCI board and how to generate random numbers. It also describes the use of the Quantis Library.

Randomness Tests Reports and Certificates

METAS Conformity Certificate - The Quantis Random Number Generators family has been tested by the Swiss Federal Office of Metrology, also known as METAS, which is the Swiss equivalent of NIST. This testing and conformity certificate (Certificate of Conformity No 151-04687, dated May 10, 2010) can be downloaded here.

If needed, IDQ can provide a copy of this document certified by a notary. For more information, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Annex to METAS Conformity Certificate - This document (Annex to Certificate of Conformity No 151-04687, dated May 10, 2010) is the testing report from METAS and it complements the Conformity Certificate mentioned above.

IDQ Internal Randomness Test Report - This documents presents the results of standard randomness tests, including the Diehard and NIST test suites, performed by IDQ on the random stream produced by a Quantis Random Number Generator.
