Welcome to QuEST: The latest quantum and cybersecurity news brought to you by ID Quantique.
We are pleased to start this month with the announcement of a successful field trial of quantum-secured transport in Germany. The trial utilized quantum key distribution to super-encrypt live data traffic, demonstrating how mission-critical services can be protected even against large-scale attacks. Colt’s trial harnessed the ADVA FSP 3000, which receives quantum keys generated by ID Quantique’s QKD technology.
Our latest blog looks at the challenge of Securing mobile communications. After a record-breaking year of security breaches and data leaks, look at how some mobile handset manufacturers, service providers and application developers have improved their mobile security.
Blockchain and Quantum computing are two of the hottest topics right now. In this new publication, the Cloud Security Alliance poses the question: what will happen to Blockchains in the Quantum Era?
We have two exciting new events coming up: Quantum Business Europe (16-17th March) and Quantum.Tech (12-14 April). Don’t miss our talks at each event, exploring the real world applications of quantum technologies.
Stay quantum curious.
Successful field trial of quantum-secured transport in Germany using ADVA’s encryption with IDQ’s Quantum Key Distribution
The trial utilized quantum key distribution (QKD) from ID Quantique to super-encrypt live data traffic, demonstrating how mission-critical services can be protected even against large-scale attacks.
Conducted over Colt’s deployed metro network in Frankfurt, the demo shows how enterprise customers can achieve secure cloud access and robustly protect sensitive data in the long term.
Securing mobile communications with quantum technologies
2020 saw more mobile app breaches & data leaks than any previous year. How can quantum technologies help phone manufacturers, telcos and app developers improve mobile security?
Can Blockchains survive in the post-quantum computer age?
How will Bitcoin, Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Zcash and others survive in the age of the quantum computer? What, if anything, can be done to retain security? Could we use quantum technologies to improve Blockchain?
