QuEST: Quantum Era Security Times July 2018

Welcome to the latest edition of the Quantum Era Security Times, brought to you by ID Quantique, the world leader in quantum-safe cryptography solutions.

This month, we are proud to be recognised for our work in securing IoT devices as we were amongst the winners of this year’s NATO Communications and Innovation (NCI) Agency Defence Innovation Challenge.

We also look at the findings of the latest Cost of a Data Breach Study, conducted by the Ponemon Institute, which reports an increase to the average total cost of a data breach, as well as the average number of records compromised compared to 2017.

We then review the security threats posed by rapid growth in IoT and discuss the necessity for strong and effective encryption to secure against cyber attacks.

Finally, we would like to invite you to join us in Las Vegas this August for Black Hat 2018, the world’s leading information security event, and DEF CON 26, the longest running and largest underground hacking conference.

Best regards,

Kelly Richdale
