We begin with the exciting news that leading telecoms provider BT has built the UK’s first practical quantum-secured high-speed fibre network using equipment from ID Quantique.

Next, we are proud to announce a partnership with Quantum Xchange that will bring quantum-safe cryptography as a service to the U.S. market using QKD servers from IDQ and QX’s complementary Trusted Node technology.

We are also happy to announce our participation in the QUARTZ Satellite Cybersecurity Consortium, where we will join other research organisations, universities and industry experts to develop a system based on Quantum Cryptography that will generate encryption keys in space.

BT and partners take quantum leap towards ‘ultra-secure’ future networks

BT has announced that it has built the UK’s first practical quantum-secured high-speed fibre network using the equipment of ID Quantique.

IDQ technology is used to transmit the data encryption key using a stream of photons across the network, which runs between Cambridge and the BT Labs in Adastral Park, Ipswitch. In parallel, the encrypted data flows through the same fibre, powered by equipment from ADVA optical networks. The collaborative project is led by the Quantum Communications Hub, part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.

ID Quantique Announces its Participation in QUARTZ Satellite Cybersecurity Consortium

We are happy to join the Satellite Cybersecurity Consortium, led by SES, with the goal to develop a Quantum Cryptography Telecommunication System (QUARTZ).

The consortium will develop a system based on Quantum Cryptography that will generate encryption keys in space and securely transmit those keys to users on earth via laser. ID Quantique’s keys will be generated by a space validated QRNG. IDQ is one of ten project partners comprising research organisations, universities and leading industry representatives.
