QuEST: Quantum Era Security Times May 2019

Welcome to the latest edition of the Quantum Era Security Times, brought to you by ID Quantique, the world leader in quantum-safe cryptography solutions.

We begin with the Cloud Security Alliance’s new paper, to which IDQ contributed. ‘Preparing Enterprises for the Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Threats’ outlines six steps enterprise leaders must take to ensure they are prepared for the quantum age.

We then look at the exciting announcement of our partnership with Mt Pelerin – a Swiss leader in blockchain for banking and finance. Together we are developing the first quantum-based solution for the secure storage of crypto assets, which we are calling the ‘Quantum Vault’.

Next, we look at a wide-ranging interview that IDQ’s Matthieu Legré gave to ITU News, explaining why quantum specialists are racing to join ITU and the drive to standardisation of QKD and QRNG.

Finally, we would like to announce the dates for our 12th Winter School and invite you to pre-book your place. Taking place from 25-31 January 2020, this year’s theme will be Quantum Communications Horizon 2030.

Best regards,

Kelly Richdale

ID Quantique announces partnership with Mt Pelerin

We are pleased to announce a partnership with a Swiss leader in blockchain for banking and finance to develop the first quantum-based solution for the secure storage of crypto assets.

Named the ‘Quantum Vault’, this collaboration aims at providing secure digital asset custody by adding an extra layer of quantum technologies on top of conventional custody solutions. It will utilise hardware and software components from both organisations, including IDQ’s QRNG and QKD technologies, making the Quantum Vault Information-Theoretically Secure (ITS).
