Welcome to the latest edition of the Quantum Era Security Times, brought to you by ID Quantique, the world leader in quantum-safe cryptography solutions.

In this edition, we are proud to announce that IDQ’s Cerberis3 Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system integrates with ADVA’s FSP 3000 platform to provide long-term security for critical data transported over optical networks.

We also announce that our Quantis QRNG chip has obtained AEC-Q100 certification, demonstrating its resistance to harsh automotive environments at a time when cybersecurity in the industry is more important than ever.

Next, we review IDQ’s Cerberis3 Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system latest product updates: It can now be deployed in any network configuration including point-to-point, relay for longer distances, ring or hub & spoke topologies.

Finally, we look at the findings of DigiCert’s Post Quantum Crypto (PQC) survey after it suggested that 71% of IT professionals are worried by the quantum computing threat.

Best regards,

Kelly Richdale

ID Quantique partners with ADVA to commercialise a quantum-safe encryption solution

Telecommunications solution provider ADVA now provides a dedicated commercial grade interface to IDQ’s Cerberis3 Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system.

This joint solution is the first commercially available quantum-safe optical platform built on a standardised interface. QKD is added as an extra layer of security on top of the encryption taking place at Layer 1 to protect data at all layers.

IDQ’s Quantis QRNG chip obtains AEC-Q100 certification

IDQ’s Quantum Random Number Generator chip has demonstrated its resistance to harsh automotive environments, making it ideal for integration into automotive security applications.

With the automotive industry in a major transition to connect and automate vehicles, and offer Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), this certification demonstrates that the Quantis QRNG chip can be reliably embedded in any security system of a connected car to ensure trusted and secured in-vehicle and V2X communications.

IDQ’s Cerberis3 QKD System now supports any kind of complex network topology

IDQ’s Cerberis3 can now be deployed in any network configuration including point-to-point, relay for longer distances, ring or hub & spoke topologies.

In addition, at each QKD network node, a Key Management System (KMS) software arbitrates the key distribution between one or several QKD blades and key consumers, such as network encryptors.

IT professionals are worried by the quantum computing threat

DigiCert’s Post Quantum Crypto (PQC) Survey finds that IT professionals are placing increased emphasis and budget on protecting their infrastructure from the threats of quantum computing.

As industry bodies work to raise awareness of quantum computing, how does the IT community view the technology, and what are they doing to ready themselves for the post-quantum age? This is a question that DigiCert has sought to answer in its 2019 PQC Survey.
