IDQ is looking for an experienced and technically strong Group Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical accounting experience, solid US GAAP knowledge, and sharp analytical problem-solving skills. This role requires independent professional who takes full ownership of their responsibilities, works with precision, and consistently delivers high-quality results without the need for close supervision. It is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across a multinational group.
Accounting & Technical Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
- Prepare and review journal entries (e.g., accruals, prepayments, revenue, leases, fixed assets, inventory).
- Review monthly accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper documentation and compliance with SOX and accounting policies.
- Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with accountants.
- Consolidate multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations.
- Assist with statutory filings and financial administration in Switzerland and other jurisdictions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting the development and execution of ERP system, process, and organizational changes.
- Support the standardization and harmonization of month-end close processes, including the development of templates and checklists that are easy to roll forward and apply consistently across reporting periods and entities.
- Perform and support internal control testing in accordance with SOX and internal policies.
- Provide vacation coverage across finance functions as needed.
- Collaborate with external service providers, auditors, and tax authorities.
Education
- Higher degree in a finance related field
Professional Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting, audit or controlling role, preferably in a multinational, audit or advisory environment.
- Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills; ability to perform and review detailed transactional work when needed.
- Hands-on and proactive approach to managing daily accounting tasks and resolving issues.
- Demonstrated experience in statutory accounting, consolidation, group audits, and internal controls.
- Valid Swiss work permit required.

Preferred Attributes
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (or in progress).
- Strong expertise in US GAAP, with hands-on experience in SOX compliance and SEC reporting.
- Proven track record in ERP system implementations and process improvements, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Demonstrated leadership, with ability to manage external providers.
