ID Quantique is looking for a nanofabrication assistant (M/F) to support its team dedicated to Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) in Geneva. The selected candidate will assist the production engineer in performing nanofabrication process steps in the cleanroom facilities at EPFL (CMi), Lausanne. Their main mission will be to contribute to the fabrication of high-performance SNSPDs, while following established procedures and maintaining quality standards. A positive, rigorous, and results-oriented mindset is expected. The position also includes regular interaction with the R&D team to ensure alignment between fabrication and product development.
As part of the development of its SNSPD (Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors) product line, ID Quantique is seeking a nanofabrication assistant to support cleanroom fabrication activities at EPFL’s CMi.
The candidate will work in close collaboration with the nanofabrication engineer already in place, performing process steps in a high-precision environment.
Your responsibilities
- Perform various nanofabrication process steps in a cleanroom environment (e.g., lithography, deposition, etching, cleaning, etc.).
- Follow established protocols and adhere to CMi safety regulations.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement under the supervision of the engineer.
- Document all steps and ensure proper tracking of fabricated batches.
Profile
- Bachelor’s student at EPFL in microsystems, applied physics, microengineering, materials science, or a related field.
- Prior experience or training in micro/nanofabrication (e.g., CMi training or courses like MSE 421 highly appreciated).
- Diligent, precise, autonomous, and capable of following detailed instructions.
- Strong interest in photonics, quantum technologies, or advanced fabrication processes.
